We are going to have our first public discussion meeting discussing the therapeutic and educational effects of role-playing games on participants. This will be both in-person, and simulcast live over the Internet via TolkienMoot IX streams.

A little while ago I posted asking people if they would be interested in a monthly meeting discussing the topics that RPG Research covers, namely the educational and therapeutic effects of role-playing games upon participants.

I received responses on Facebook, Twitter, and elsewhere from people that stated they would be interested, and would participate.

With this feedback, I am going to go ahead and begin a monthly discussion group meeting, open to the public, starting in August, meeting both in-person, and broadcast live over the Internet through Google+ Hangout so that people from around the world can join in the conversation and share their information and experiences on this diverse range of topics. This will also be simulcast over the TolkienMoot Youtube Channel.

If you have not already joined the TolkienMoot Google+ circle ( tolkienmoot at gmail dot com ), or Google+ TolkienMoot page, or subscribed to the TolkienMoot, or joined the email list ( list-subscribe@tolkienscholars.org ) please consider doing so.
