RPG Player Archetype Specialist I

This is an entry-level volunteer position with the possibility of optional free peer-training available. The Player Archetype Specialist I Volunteer Trainee is responsible for filling the role of various role-playing gamer "types". The participant takes on various Player Archetype roles to help training Game Masters learn how to address such situations more effectively. Archetype examples include: Munchkin, Rules Lawyer, Murder-hobo, etc. For people with little-to-no prior professional RPG experience, this is an excellent means of getting started gaining that experience.

ABOUT RPG RESEARCH

RPG Research, a 501(c)3 non-profit research and community services organization researching the effects of music and all role-playing game formats (tabletop, live-action, computer-based, and solo adventure books/modules), considerations for accessibility and inclusiveness, and the potential uses of music and role-playing games to help various populations achieve their entertainment, educational, recreational, and therapeutic goals.

POSITION SUMMARY

RPG Research is accepting application for multiple senior and junior opportunities as tabletop, live-action, and computer-based Player Archetype I positions. As all positions at RPG Research, this is a volunteer position (unpaid), with free training.

The Volunteer Player Archetype Specialist  I Trainee is responsible for filling the role of various role-playing gamer "types" at game sessions/events and/or for training new Game Masters going through GM training. Types include: Munchkin, Rules Lawyer, Murder-hobo, etc. This is an excellent means of gaining experience toward other professional RPG positions.
